Aspects at the National Memorial Arboretum: Events that Matter in a Place that Matters
Aspects at the National Memorial Arboretum offers a completely unique conferencing proposition. Our award-winning building, opened in 2018, is home to seven flexible spaces, suitable for 10 – 300 guests.
Our location feels like an idyllic escape but is easily accessible just five minutes from the A38 with links to the M6 (Toll), M42 and M1. 30 minutes from Derby and Birmingham, it is perfectly placed for homeworking teams.
More importantly, Aspects is situated within the spectacular backdrop of the National Memorial Arboretum, the Nation’s centre of Remembrance. A 150-acre green, open landscape, home to over 25,000 trees and punctuated with 400 memorials. It is the perfect escape for meetings, conferences and teambuilding.
Each memorial recognises the service and sacrifice of both military and civilian personnel. From the WAS(B) women supplying tea and sandwiches on the front lines of Burma, to the 16,000 Armed Forces Personnel who have given their lives since the end of the Second World War. Whilst our trees and living landscape offers a retreat into nature, creating space to breathe and time to reflect.
Home to hundreds of stories, tales of camaraderie, inspirational leadership, heroism in extraordinary circumstances and accounts of strength and resilience, they provide a powerful connection on an emotional level to the themes clients are looking to explore.
In 2023 we launched Operation Locate, our outdoor teambuilding challenge. Set in 1945, teams visit memorials and work together to solve clues, decipher codes and help uncover the location of a missing unit. Lasting between 1.5 – 2 hours and suitable for 6 – 120 guests, it’s a simple addition to teambuilding events that encourages lateral thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.
For more formal training and development, clients have the option to work with our selection of handpicked coaches and trainers to create their own team development days. Working with you to understand needs and ambitions, they can tailor workshop to explore themes such as transformational change, leadership and communication, bringing in powerful stories from the Arboretum to connect in a completely different, meaningful and relevant way.
If you’re considering a teambuilding event this Spring what could be more powerful than choosing a venue that recognises the service and sacrifice ordinary people have made, and continue to make, every single day?
